The competition has just started: “Stay Home with Oberon Media” and send us your short film to join the Festival.
The deadline is 28 April 2020. The winner will be awarded a 1,000 euros Prize
“Stay home with Oberon Media” is the Festival of short films conceived and realised by the homonymous production and distribution company. The competition offers to all video makers under quarantine a chance to get involved into the competition and to make a short movie on their own. The best films will be admitted to the final stages of the competition and shared on social medias and broadcasted on all Oberon Media channels and others qualified. On 14 May 2020, during the Gala evening virtually transmitted, there will be the projection of the five finalist short films, followed by a Q&A session with the authors and the actors. At the end, the winners will be proclaimed and awarded the prizes.
The competition is open to every unreleased product with no restrictions of theme. The short film must be made in Italian language and can have a duration between 1 and 6 minutes. It is possible to participate as a group as well, provided that every member has reached the age of majority before the registration deadline. The competition will not accept all short films in which minors are largely employed, except if they are participating as actors. The jury is responsible for making a final selection of 5 short films based on the material received. The jury is composed of many experts of the film and audio-visual sector, such as the film-maker Ferdinando Vicentini Orgnani (also president of the jury), the coordinator of projects for Oberon Media, Ernesto Leotta (the secretary of the jury), the film-maker Marco Amenta, the historian and journalist Salvo Trapani and the actress Elisabetta Pellini. The winning short film will receive a Prize of 1,000 euros, offered by Oberon Media in recognition of the merit for the conception and the making of the film. There is also a prize awarded by the audience, that will be destined to one out of the five finalist films who received the highest number of likes. The winner will receive a merit plaque attesting the victory of the Prize. The winner of the Festival can be awarded the Audience Prize as well.
The short film cannot include any images and content of pornography or child pornography nature, as it is for violent or discriminatory messages of all types or aimed at promoting any kind of illegal gambling, unless their only purpose is to denounce such behaviours. It is forbidden to insert images or other advertising content aimed at expressly promoting the goods, the services and the image of a person or entity pursuing an economic activity.
