ON THURSDAY 8 OCTOBER 2020, the second working day of IGF Italy, Eurovisioni has organised the meeting TWO YEARS OF SELF-REGULATION OF INTERNET PLATFORMS AGAINST DISINFORMATION AND HATE SPEECH: WHAT ARE THE RESULTS?
The meeting has been organised in collaboration with AGCOM and the Research Office of RAI, and it was held virtually. The purpose was to make the point about the current actions taken to hinder disinformation and fake news. In particular, there have been discussions about the state of progress of the working group created at AGCOM on this matter. Several reports have already been presented: the Italian public broadcasting service RAI has been particularly involved into this issue. Erik Lambert on behalf of Eurovisioni has presented the overview of the situation at a global level without forgetting about the international scenarios (Europe, China, etc.).
The meeting ended with a number of recommendations on what still needs to be done in Italy and in Europe in order to fight against disinformation by cooperating with the European and global players.
